5 Things to Know About the Hard Rock Credit Card

Fans of Hard Rock’s many venues — casinos, hotels and cafes filled with music memorabilia — can earn rewards with the Unity by Hard Rock Mastercard Credit Card. And you can redeem those rewards for more experiences at Hard Rock properties, further fueling your love of the brand.

The $0-annual-fee Hard Rock credit card, issued by Comenity Capital Bank, also helps you reach higher membership tiers within the Hard Rock loyalty program, granting you access to even more perks.

Here are five things to know about the Hard Rock credit card.

1. You must be a member of Hard Rock’s loyalty program

The Hard Rock credit card is meant for members of the Unity by Hard Rock loyalty program. The program is free to join, and you can do so without ever getting the Hard Rock credit card.

As a Unity member (without the card), you’ll earn:

  • 3 Unity points per $1 spent at participating Hard Rock Cafes, non-casino hotels and Rock Shops.

  • 1 Unity point per $1 spent on all other non-gaming purchases in participating Hard Rock casinos.

You can also earn Unity points at varying rates when gaming at Hard Rock casinos.

2. The card accelerates your rewards-earning potential

If you get the Hard Rock credit card, you’ll earn a higher rewards rate on some of the same Hard Rock purchases that would earn points as a Unity member, plus more points in additional spending categories:

  • 5 Unity points per $1 spent at participating Hard Rock non-casino properties. You must present a physical or digital Unity by Hard Rock loyalty card.

  • 4 Unity points per $1 spent on non-gaming purchases at participating Hard Rock casinos. You must present a physical or digital Unity by Hard Rock loyalty card.

  • 2 Unity points per $1 at restaurants and grocery stores. Third-party food delivery services like DoorDash and Uber Eats aren’t included in this category.

  • 1 Unity point per $1 on all other purchases.

There’s also a sign-up bonus for new cardholders: Earn 10,000 Unity points after spending $1,000 within 90 days on purchases outside of participating Hard Rock properties.

That’s not bad, but you can find richer welcome offers, even among other no-annual-fee travel credit cards. For example, the $0-annual-fee Wells Fargo Autograph℠ Card features the following sign-up bonus: Earn 20,000 bonus points when you spend $1,000 in purchases in the first 3 months – that’s a $200 cash redemption value. The card earns triple bonus points across a wide variety of spending categories, and because it’s not tied to a specific property like the Hard Rock credit card is, those rewards will be more flexible. You can redeem them toward various types of travel, or for cash back, all at a value of a penny per point.

3. Redeem rewards for experiences

You can redeem Unity points (at a value of 1 cent per point) for stays at Hard Rock resorts and casino hotels, meals at Hard Rock Cafes, and merchandise at Rock Shops. You can also use your points for gambling and sports betting at Hard Rock casinos, or for online sports betting and gaming.

Keep in mind that Unity points expire after 180 days of inactivity on your loyalty account or Hard Rock credit card.

4. Enjoy higher status

As a Unity member, you unlock status tiers the more tier credits you earn. This gets you access to benefits such as discounts, access to VIP hotel lounges and exclusive events, hotel room upgrades and more. You can earn tier credits on qualifying spending at participating Hard Rock locations.

With the Hard Rock credit card, members of the lowest tier will get bumped up to the next tier, while members of higher tiers will get 3,000 tier credits after using the card within the first 30 days. Plus, you can earn 5,000 more tier credits if you spend $5,000 in a calendar year.

5. Unity members get perks on cruises, too

Hard Rock partners with Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises, so Unity members can enjoy benefits including stateroom discounts and a dedicated call center.
